Two of my works (Plum Passion Lemon Locomotion, pictured above and Looking Inward, image available under Original Paintings 2008) have been chosen to be on display from June 11th to July 9th at the Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts as a part of the Artists’ League Summer Annual Show. The museum hours are Monday – Friday 9am to 4pm. So if you get a chance, swing by and check them out.

I’m glad to say that I was awarded a scholarship for my collegiate endeavors, I’m currently on display in two regional shows and I’ve just submitted for a third. On Tuesday I was interviewed by local NPR affiliate WKGC for a visual arts program hosted by Bay Arts Alliance’s Jennifer Jones. I expect that radio interview to air on Sept. 23rd on WKGC 90.7 FM.

The Takeout exhibit at the Brevart Art Museum I am exhibiting with was held over due to the turnout to the event. I currently don’t know how long the exhibit will last, so if you’re in the area call ahead to see if it’s still on display.

The second show I am a part of is the 9th Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition in Ozark, Alabama’s Ann Rudd Center.

I am now being represented by Main Street Gallery located in historic downtown Panama City. This newly opened gallery has several of my works on display as well as works by other local artists. Please feel free to visit their location and check out many differing works from established and upcoming artists.

In other news, I have a piece currently on display at the Brevard Art Museum as part of a themed exhibit entitled “Take Out.” The above piece will be on display at the Brevard Art Museum until Aug. 30th, 2009. I also have several pieces on display at the Dowling Museum Ann Rudd Arts Center for their 9th Annual Juried Art Exhibit. This exhibit will be up until September 25th, 2009. My website has also been updated to include some studio works done while studying at Gulf Coast Community College, these works include 2008 paintings and drawings.

At these events I debuted a new piece of artwork called “Stained Glass Butterfly”, as well as a mini-print of it which was quite popular.

On Saturday, I will be part of the Bay County National Organization for Women’s “Feast of Hearts” Silent Art Auction. The event will take place from 2 to 8pm at Gaston’s Hideaway, 233 Harrison Avenue in Panama City, Florida. I have donated two pieces of artwork that will be auctioned off, and I will be appearing from 4 to 6pm as a featured artist with a variety of other works (including prints) for sale.

The second one takes place at the Unitarian Universalists Fellowship of Bay County at 10:30am. During their normal Sunday fellowship service, I will be the featured speaker talking about “Finding Spirituality Through The Arts”. This presentation was prompted by my discovery of a church in New Mexico, called the Church of Beethoven, whose services are based around music and art, and I will also be briefly talking about art and religion. I will have a powerpoint presentation showing various pieces of art, accompanied by music. The service begins at 10:30am and is free to the public. This event is free, and is located at the corner of Lisenby and Airport Road in Panama City, Florida. The UU’s website is uubay.homestead.com

Later that day at 7pm, I will be the featured Visual Artist at the Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church’s Concert & Art Series. That night, “World Piano” artist and pianist Joel Fan will be performing. Fan has performed with Yo-Yo Ma, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and Zubin Mehta. I will be showing several paintings as well as having prints and bookmarks available for sale. The event has a suggested donation of $15, and there will be a reception to meet the artist & musician after the concert. The church is located at 271 South Highway 79 in Panama City Beach, Florida. Later this year, I will also be doing a return engagement at Gulf Beach Presybyterian Church’s “Concert & Art” series as featured artist with pianist Joel Fan. That is scheduled for March 1st, andI will have more information as the date draws closer.

My piece is prominently featured in the front gallery, and can be seen from the sidewalk.

In addition, three new pieces I recently created will be shown at Quincy, Fl.’s Gadsden Arts Center as part of “Out Of Pocket II: Small Art Invitational”. This exhibit featured works no larger than 25″ square (2D) or 8″ (3d) and are priced $250 or less, and features work from 81 area artists. The exhibit runs from October 10th – November 2nd.

I have also refreshed my artwork on display at En Visions in Downtown Panama City with several new pieces.
